HAYS PLC Press Release: BATH BUSINESSMAN BOUNCES BACK FROM INJURY TO RAISE £10,000 FOR ROYAL UNITED HOSPITALS TRUST

Dave Broadway, Managing Director of Bath-based CFH Docmail is aiming to raise £10,000 for the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Trust by running the Bath Half Marathon just one year after a cycle accident resulted in a broken hip and major surgery.

The funds will be donated to the Forever Friends Appeal, the fundraising charity for the Royal United Hospitals, which will support the building of the Royal United Hospital’s new cancer care centre.

In February 2015 Dave was racing in a charity cycling event at the Olympic Velodrome in London, organised by recruiters Hays, when he crashed his bike, breaking his hip and requiring an operation to hold his hip together with a plate and four screws.

Just after one year from his accident Dave will take on the 13.2 miles of the Bath Half Marathon on 13 March to give back to the NHS. To boost his fundraising efforts Hays, the leading recruiting experts, have donated £1,000 to the appeal.

Simon Winfield, Managing Director at Hays in the West & Wales said: “Dave’s determination to bounce back from injury to complete this challenge is inspiring. After Dave’s contribution to our own charity fundraising appeal we’re delighted to be able to support his fundraising for this very important cause.”
