Hybrid mail company rated the fastest growing firm in its industry

A company which delivers mail using bicycles around Bristol and Bath has been listed as the top performer in its field. CFH Docmail, based in Radstock, Somerset, was the fastest growing hybrid mail company in the list compiled by trade publication Print Week.

The firm recorded year-on-year sales growth of 37.25 per cent, net profit increased by 163 per cent and staff numbers were up 18 per cent.

Managing director Dave Broadway said: “It’s very gratifying to be recognised by our industry and to be able to bench mark our achievements.

“In the last 12 months we have seen steady growth from our core market sectors but were also able to use our strong financial position to save jobs at Scottish print company BSS which we acquired out of administration.

‘We expect to turnover £45 million in 2015/2016 which is up from £41 million in the previous financial year.”

Hybrid mail means using a combination of electronic and physical delivery, sending documents in digital format and then printing them closer to their destination.

Family business CFH also runs the Velopost cycle mail delivery service in Bristol and Bath and has heavily investment in maknig its HQ environmentally sustainable.

Dave said the company planned to continue investing in the business.

“In 2016 we plan to invest over £1 million in IT servers and systems as well as increasing the Velopost electric vehicle fleet with the new Nissan e-NV200 electric van for postal collections in and around Bristol and Bath,” he said.

“We will shortly be adding a Nissan Leaf to our Edinburgh site for postal collections.

“The increase in demand for our services will inevitably see the need for recruitment which is good news for the local economy.”
