‘Love Your Environment’ - Velopost sends Valentine’s message to Bristol businesses

Velopost, Bristol’s fossil fuel free bicycle delivery service are marking Valentine’s Day by delivering a live tree to the sustainability managers of Bristol businesses to encourage them to take further measures to protect their environment. Each recipient will receive a flowering cherry or silver birch (both indigenous to the UK) as well as top tips for easy measures that they can take to reduce their carbon footprint. Each tree will be hand delivered by Velopost’s team of cycle couriers.

Phil Smisson from Velopost says “Bristol leads the field in terms of environmental conservation but we should not rest on our laurels. As we conclude our year as The Green Capital we are keen to encourage businesses to continue to raise the bar. The saplings that we deliver are symbolic of the part that the planting of even the smallest seeds can play in the future of our planet.

“Our service is also representative of how a small change can have a major impact on the environment. By exclusively using bicycles and electric vehicles to deliver mail we save 28g of CO2 per letter. This also provides good value for our customers. Delivering in the most environmentally friendly way is also the most economical.  Velopost delivers for less than the cost of a second class stamp and we pick up from your building too.”
